Yes, the rides are open for everyone! We just ask you to register beforehand. This way you help us to organize everything. Make shure to read this whole page and the ride information.
From those that just picked up cycling to Elite Riders, everyone joins and is welcome to do so!
Everyone started at some point. There are some simple rules to follow in a bunchride. Just ask us prior start and we are happy to assist. Most of the time we ride an easy pace that is ideal for beginners. We recommend you to checkout the Easy Patrol, as these rides are aiming to let you get to know group rides.
Grown from a small group of friends we are a loose collective of cyclists that want to give back to the cycling community of Kiel.
Set your alarm, wear a helmet, bring your lights. Ride considerate and just don’t be a dick!
All cyclists are welcome on our rides! To make sure everyone has a great time, we have compiled a list of rules, we abide by.
Be nice and respectful! We don’t tolerate abusive/racist/sexist behavior!
In a group everyone is responsible for the safety of the group. For a non-exhaustive list of hand signals please visit: https://www.169k.net/blog/handzeichen
Always stop at crossings and traffic lights. Do not cross, if it is not safe for the ENTIRE group to do so.
An even pace makes sure the group stays together. Ride predictable for the riders behind you.
Don’t push slower riders and hold your line. Unannounced sprints and jostling in the group can lead to bad experiences and, in the worst case, crashes. No Strava segment is worth that.
Gaps can make the group disorderly. It’s also not nice to ride alone, when people in front of and behind you are chatting away. Take the opportunity to meet other riders.
To make sure the entire group gets back together, we wait after sprints and climbs until the entire group is together.
If you ride with a slower group don’t expect them to speed up for you. And don’t disrupt their pace.
If you see a rider struggling to close a gap, NEVER give them a gentle push before asking if they are okay with it.
Always ask another rider if they are open to friendly tips. This avoids awkward situations.
It is always nice to have memorabilia of rides and events, but it isn’t nice if taking them creates dangerous situations. Always be careful of other traffic participants.
Please chat with us, if you have ANY concerns before, on or after a ride. We want to make sure everyone has a good time and will take action if necessary.
